Scuba Sciences' Transportation

Background & History

Scuba Sciences' has been running transportation for our scuba trips to California and Mexico since 1977.  Our first method of transportation were rental vans from a Phoenix-area Chevrolet dealer.

In 1977, we purchased a brand new 15-passenger van.
It's name was "Dive Van".

In 1979, as our transportation needs grew along with our trip organization skills, we purchased our first bus.  It's name was "The Bubble Machine".  "The Bubble Machine" was a 23 passenger bus with a bathroom, headphones, and movies.  The "Bubble Machine" may have been the first bus with movies on board.  After approximately five years, we realized the bathroom was not a desirable feature.

1984 brought a change to the Scuba Sciences' transportation-the "Bubble Machine-A".  Instead of the bathroom on-board, we had a "snack center" where our customers could purchase candy, soda, and souvenirs.  The proceeds from the "snack center" helped the support the Holiday Party.

During 1989, our transportation needs grew even more.  This brought the custom-built "Fathom Quest" to our transportation family.  The "Fathom Quest" was the second diesel bus ever created by El Dorado Motor coach and John Deere.  The "Fathom Quest" has served us well beyond our wildest dreams!  We just continued to grow and needed a bigger bus!

The latest member of the Scuba Sciences' transportation family is the "Ocean Explorer".  The "Ocean Explorer" is a 33-passenger custom-built bus, with 8 television monitors, headphone jacks (for each customer to control the volume of the movie), aisle seats that are capable of moving several inches apart from the window seat, a thermo king air conditioning unit (which is cold enough for us to transport people as well as ice cream).  Join us for a California Dive Weekend Trip aboard the "Ocean Explorer!"
