Store Policies Scuba Sciences, Inc. has been serving Arizona's scuba divers since 1970! Scuba Sciences, Inc. is the Exclusive Arizona Scuba Store to be a Member Better Business Bureau Central/Northern AZ. Since Scuba Diving is not a typical business, Classes There are no refunds on class payments, reservations, or fees.
We have a minimum of 4 people per class. If this number is not met, we may combine classes with other Instructors and/or Our Other Store.
Classes can be transferred to another person if you decide not to enroll in the scuba class (within 6 months only ~ after 6 months all monies will be lost). This person will be responsible for the $30 transfer fee.
If a person completes a scuba class, but does not certify in the ocean within 6 months, they will be required to complete some classroom & pool sessions to bring their skills back up to speed at no charge.
If is has been 6 months to a year or more, they will be required to complete the class again for a $50 re-do fee.
If a person enrolls in a scuba class, but has never finished, they can start with another class within 6 months at no additional charge. If it has been 6 months or more, they will be required to complete the class again for a $50 fee (re-do fee)
If a person misses one or more sessions of the scuba class, they will complete a make-up class with a regularly scheduled class at no additional charge. If a private make-up is needed, there will be a $30 fee per person, per class and/or pool session.
Sorry, no refunds for medical reasons. If the cancellation is from a health or medical reason, cancellation fees and/or penalties will apply.
Referral Certifications
Students will be required to pay a $110 referral fee plus tax if they wish to complete their ocean certification dives at a resort location such as Hawaii, Belize, Cozumel, etc. Students will receive a $25 discount on the referral fee if they book their trip with our Travel Agency, Air & Sea Travel (602) 997-2822. This fee covers the cost of the paperwork, faxes to/from the resort dive shop, researching dive shops at your destination, certification card when you return, and a minimum of 1 additional pool session prior to departure. It is the responsibility of the student to arrange the diving at the resort destination. Once you have decided which referral facility to use, the paperwork process can begin.
In order to receive a referral, you must have your homework, paperwork, test, and all classes and pools completed.
Referrals can only be issued within 30 days of the class completing.
Referral paperwork is only valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
Referrals to local dive facilities and/or instructors are not issued.
Referrals will not be issued for students who start their ocean certifications with us and do not finish.
Equipment No refunds. Equipment can be exchanged for other equipment or store credit only within 14 days. Any equipment used by students must meet our safety requirements. Snorkeling equipment must be scuba diving quality. Scuba equipment must be in it's current service inspection period (annual service inspections) with the appropriate service sleeves, tags, and/or stickers. NO EXCEPTIONS! Your safety is our primary concern! We abide by our Manufacturers Policies of not selling equipment on the internet. We cannot match prices with internet, mail-order or other stores in order to comply with these policies. We will provide you will exemplary service and fair prices! Airfills Scuba Cylinders A valid recognized certification card is required. Cylinders must be in a current hydrostatic test and have a valid nationally recognized VIP or VIP+ sticker. Paintball Airfills All paintball users are required to complete a liability release form. Cylinders must be in a current hydrostatic test and have a valid nationally recognized VIP or VIP+ sticker. Domestic Trips No refunds. If the person cancels his/her reservation two weeks or more from the date of the trip departure, the trip payments will be transferred to another domestic scuba trip (for the same person only) within two months without penalties. Only trips that are paid in full can be transferred. Any balances (monies owed) must be paid in full prior to any transfers! A deposit of one-half the trip value is needed to reserve your space. Deposits must have a valid credit card number on file to secure final payment. Final payment is due two-weeks prior to the trip. If a person cancels his/her reservation 13 to 3 days from the trip departure, a $100 cancellation fee will be accessed. Any remaining trip payments plus the $100 cancellation fee must be paid at the time of cancellation. If a person cancels his/her reservation 2 days or less from the trip departure, all trip payments and deposits will be lost. If the
cancellation is from a health or medical reason, Trip payments cannot be transferred beyond two months. Monies from a trip transfer cannot be used for classes or equipment. International Trips No refunds. International trip deposits and payments are non-transferable, non-refundable, and are only for the specific international trip which was originally reserved. Penalties from airlines, cruise lines, hotels, dive shops, etc. may be accessed. Optional Trip Insurance is highly recommended. Please check with Air & Sea Travel for International Trip Insurance rates, which may cover trip cancellations due to illness or other reasons. Reservations cancelled within 45 days of departure are subject to 100% penalty (non-refundable). Layaways No refunds. No refunds on layaway payments. If an item is placed on layaway, Scuba Sciences' requires a 10% initial payment and a minimum monthly payment of 10%. If monthly payments are not met, the layaway may be terminated. If the item is a custom-order or not normally an in-stock item, 75% of the total payments are needed prior to ordering. If the price of the layaway item changes while payments are being made, the new price will used. Layaway payments cannot be transferred to classes, trips, or other equipment. Gift Certificates No refunds. Domestic Trips - Gift certificates issued for cancelled reservations on domestic trips (penalties apply) are valid for trips only for a period of time designated on the gift certificate. Equipment - Gift certificates issued for merchandise in the store, are valid for store merchandise only for a period of time designated on the gift certificate. Classes - Gift certificates issued for cancelled class reservations (penalities apply) are valid for classes only for a period of time designated on the gift certificate. For example: Gift certificates for classes cannot be used towards equipment. Gift certificates are like cash, lost gift certificates will not be honored. Thank you for your business.
